WorkNest (formerly Ellis Whittam) is nestled in the picturesque village of Aldford, on the outskirts of historic Chester.
From more humble beginnings, we’ve made a home in Woodhouse – an impressive converted barn with a scenic backdrop that’s popular with colleagues and clients alike. It’s also a great location for our in-person events.

WorkNest’s Chester office is home to approximately 25 local, qualified Employment Law Advisers. The team’s blend of regional knowledge, sector experience and unrivalled legal expertise makes them perfectly placed to serve the city’s diverse range of businesses, from schools and colleges to Chester race course. However, we also have experts located remotely throughout the UK, and both these and our Chester-based lawyers serve thousands of clients nationwide.
Our field-based Health & Safety Consultants also work with an assortment of Chester-based clients, though spend much of their time out on the road visiting them on site. Our Chester office is, however, home to our Helpdesk team, who provide an added layer of advice and support.
You can find us on Church Lane, Aldford, just 6.5 miles to the south of Chester on the east bank of the River Dee. The Aldford Brook joins the Dee just north of the village.
Aldford is an immaculately kept 19th century model estate village comprised of a church, village hall, post office and the remains of a Norman motte and bailey castle. Next door to our offices is a charming village pub and lots of scenic walking routes and riverside paths for our colleagues and visitors to enjoy.
Woodhouse is situated on the Grosvenor Estate and neighbours the country house of the Duke of Westminster, Eaton Hall, which is surrounded by formal gardens, parkland, farmland and woodland and steeped in several centuries of history.

We moved our legal support to WorkNest (formerly Law at Work) having previously used a time and line law firm. It was important, though, that an all-inclusive fee structure did not come at the expense of quality. Thankfully we’ve been delighted with the service we’ve received from WorkNest.”
What we recognised in WorkNest is the background that they have. They are able to supply knowledge and experience in a number of disciplines, which enables us to develop our business in a way that’s safe, to do it on time and with a quality to it.”
