Colleague Spotlight

Natasha Hamblin, Health & Safety Consultant

Natasha's background

Hi, I’m Natasha and I’ve worked in the health and safety field since 2012, joining WorkNest (formerly Ellis Whittam) as Health & Safety Consultant in 2018.

Throughout my decade-long career, I’ve had a number of health and safety roles and worked across multiple sectors, including the film industry, public entertainment, and construction. This wealth of experience enables me to communicate effectively with people at all levels, be they owners, directors, managers or employees, which is certainly helpful in my role here at WorkNest.

My expertise is in construction, having worked in the sector for over 15 years. During this time, I gained experience with civil engineering projects, high-end carpentry fit-out projects for residential and commercial clients, carpentry projects for large-scale new residential builds, and individual refurbishment projects transforming commercial buildings into residential housing.

It was during my time in construction that I was given the opportunity to gain NEBOSH qualification, which kickstarted my health and safety journey. I made the jump to consultancy four years ago and have since become a Chartered professional – one of my biggest career achievements to date.

Working for WorkNest gives the me opportunity to work with clients in a number of sectors, including construction, care, logistics, medical practices, warehousing and manufacturing. I support them in various ways, including carrying out general risk audits and fire risk assessments; reviewing risk assessments, processes, procedures and policies; doing research; providing guidance on specialist activities; and offering general health and safety advice.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others and get great satisfaction from seeing people utilising my guidance, together with their own expertise, to create a safer environment.

Outside of work, I enjoy art, singing in a local choir, cooking and swimming in the sea! I also volunteer my health and safety advice to a local heritage charity group working on restoration projects within my town.
