Philanthropist and landowner the Duke of Westminster has died aged 64.
Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor died at the Royal Preston Hospital in Lancashire on Tuesday 10 August after suddenly becoming ill on his Abbeystead Estate.
Whilst he is well known to the public for his business interests and charitable work, here at Ellis Whittam he was much admired as a very accommodating landlord.
Mark Ellis, Chairman of Ellis Whittam says: “We are all deeply saddened at this news. We enjoy the great privilege of having our head office based on the Duke’s Eaton Hall estate, seat of the Duke’s family, in Aldford. The estate has always been sensitively managed, providing a beautiful environment for residents and Ellis Whittam colleagues alike. The Duke always took a personal interest in our welfare and visited on several occasions to oversee the redevelopment of our offices. We enjoyed a wonderful relationship and he will be sadly missed.”
Everyone at Ellis Whittam extends their condolences to the Duke’s family.
