Virtual Mock Health & Safety Criminal Trial

Are you an OHS professional or employer wondering what it’s like to face a health and safety prosecution? Are you curious how you’d handle cross-examination as a witness to an incident in the workplace?

Join WorkNest for a FREE Virtual Mock Health & Safety Criminal Trial. This unique virtual event will provide first-hand insight into what happens when a company is charged with a breach of health and safety law and will help you avoid pitfalls that could lead to the prosecution and conviction of your own organisation.

You won’t just learn about legal requirements – you’ll experience a real-world trial in action, culminating in a crucial question: did the company take all reasonable steps to prevent this tragic accident?

27 March, 9.30 am - 12.30 pm

Overview

In the fictional case of HSE v Blunty Ltd, the defendant company is alleged to have failed in ensuring the health and safety of one of its employees who was injured at work.

You’ll hear evidence regarding the safety arrangements on site, including risk assessments, training and inspection procedures, which the HSE says were inadequate and caused the accident to occur.

The defendant company denies the charge and will present a different version of events – but did it do enough to prevent harm? That’s for you to decide.
