With the risk of infection still very much present across the UK, and government restrictions still being firmly enforced, we are likely to experience ongoing challenges around absenteeism for some time to come. However, employers can prepare for the obstacles ahead by seeking to gain a broader understanding of employment law and best practice.

As a consequence of the government’s changes to the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Regulations earlier this year, many employers are seeking clarity so they can create consistent procedures and implement effective internal communications to help minimise the effect on the wider workforce.
