Risk assessment – the systematic identification and evaluation of risks – is fundamental to workplace health and safety. By prioritising risk assessment, employers not only comply with regulations but also create a safer, more resilient workplace.
This exclusive, client-only workshop will clarify what’s required of employers, walk you through the process of conducting a suitable and sufficient risk assessment, and explain how to apply sensible and proportionate measures to help keep your workplace safe.
This client-only workshop will be delivered virtually by several Chartered health and safety practitioners, including a former HSE Inspector, giving you the benefit of real hands-on experience.
You have the option to attend for the full session or, if you are interested in a particular topic, join us at the appropriate time.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
9.30 am – 10.15 am: Overview
Understand reasons for managing health and safety risks. We’ll discuss employers’ legal duties and dissect recent court cases where effective controls weren’t implemented, highlighting the possible consequences of inadequate risk assessment.
10.15 am – 11.00 am: 5 steps to risk assessment
Discover the theory and how to use the HSE’s step-by-step process for conducting a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.

We’ll round off the session by recapping the key learning outcomes and answering any final questions.
Throughout the session, your hosts will set exercises to complete, providing a more interactive experience and encouraging long-lasting knowledge retention.
By equipping your workforce with the skills to conduct robust risk assessments, your organisation will be able to adopt a more proactive approach to health and safety and prevent accidents before they happen. This should translate into cost savings and minimise liability should an incident occur.
