Employment Rights Bill | your questions answered
Throughout October and November, WorkNest’s Employment Law experts hosted a series of virtual and in-person seminars to help employers digest the changes proposed by the new Labour government during its first 100 days in office.
Naturally, you had questions – particularly following the introduction of the Employment Rights Bill, the key legislation driving these reforms forward.
With the New Year now upon us and momentum building, join us for a dedicated session where we’ll answer employers’ common queries and help you prepare for change, ensuring your business stays compliant in 2025 and beyond.
16 January, 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm
What's on the agenda?
The Employment Rights Bill, described as “the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation”, contains a total of 28 employment law reforms. Most of these changes will be introduced through secondary legislation, with several undergoing a consultation process first.
Alongside the Bill, the government has also published a Next Steps document, which provides commentary on the Bill together with details of future reforms. Crucially, the document also confirms that consultations will begin in 2025, meaning substantive reforms are unlikely to take effect before 2026 – giving businesses time to prepare.
To that end, this free, 60-minute webinar, hosted by Head of Team and Solicitor Jane Hallas and Professional Support Solicitor Stuart Watkins, will answer your pertinent questions surrounding key proposals, including those relating to:
- Zero-hour contracts
- Day one rights, including unfair dismissal and SSP
- Probationary periods
- The four-day working week
- Trade Unions
We’ll also briefly touch on bereavement leave, the right to disconnect, single ‘worker’ status, and more. Plus, we’ll address likely timescales for change and outline any steps you can take now.
Don’t miss this opportunity to get expert guidance and clarity on the employment changes that will impact organisations across all sectors over the next 18 months.
