WorkNest & AON Presents: Employment and HR
Breakfast Briefing

Join AON and WorkNest for a morning of expert insight
into employers’ current workforce challenges.

3 November - 8.30 am - 12.00 pm
P&J Live, E Burn Rd, Aberdeen AB21 9FX

In the first part of this session, Nick Boyton, Principal Health Solutions at AON, will be sharing five key trends that are rewriting the way organisations need to think about talent.

These current trends present significant challenges that have the potential to hinder organisations’ ability to deliver. They have also created a “Great Convergence” that we believe necessitates a review of the status quo.

Nick will be taking a look at the issues caused by the Great Convergence and the steps that organisations can take to retain and attract talent in today’s competitive labour market, including:

  • Employee expectations
  • Rethinking the employee value proposition
  • Resilience
  • Working life factors

By considering these trends organisations and their employees should be better prepared to weather the current and future storms.

In the second half of this session, Lesley Rennie, Principal Employment Law Solicitor at WorkNest, will be discussing some of the legal implications employers must keep in mind when taking steps to address “The Great Convergence”.

The pandemic heralded a seismic shift in attitudes towards the traditional office working model. Flexible working practices, whether in relation to working hours or place of work, are an increasingly valuable tool to attract and retain talent.

To help you get the legalities right when managing flexible working and other employee perks, Lesley will be exploring:

  • The key considerations around flexible working requests, including how to effectively monitor performance and ensure employee wellbeing in a hybrid or remote environment
  • The importance of fostering employee resilience, supporting employees with mental health issues, and managing related sickness absence
  • The employee value proposition – how to set out benefit entitlement in
the contract of employment to avoid potential pitfalls in drafting following Amdocs Systems Group Ltd v Langton and how to vary or remove benefits during the employment relationship

This event is free to attend. Due to limited capacity, places will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Register early via the form opposite to avoid disappointment.
