Sharon Gibson, HR Consultant

Senior HR Consultant

Hi there, I’m Sharon, and I’m one of the Senior HR Consultants. I joined WorkNest (formerly HR Services Partnership) in March 2020, after spending several years working in the private sector.

I’ve been a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) for 30 years. After gaining my Diploma in HR, I went on to achieve my Advanced Certificate in Employment Law.

I now enjoy working with smaller organisations, including charities and not-for-profits, where I support them in taking their businesses forward and resolving HR issues. I love the variety that my role brings, and I also enjoy learning more about the many charities I work with.

I’m a member of the WorkNest Inclusion Alliance and have a keen interest in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. I’m extremely proud to have won the WorkNest Inclusion Award – both for being an ally and for raising the profile of menopause in the workplace, encouraging open conversations within WorkNest and with my clients.

My background as an operational HR professional means I’ve covered many aspects of HR, though I’m still keen to learn more about different types of businesses. I’ve previously worked for large companies in the airline, construction, facilities management, and rail infrastructure sectors. During this time, I also specialised in TUPE and mobilisations, and spent two years in the Commercial Bid Team to experience the full cycle.

When I’m not working, I enjoy being outdoors and close to nature – and, with two dogs, that includes the wet, wintry days too. Until two years ago, I was a keen plodder and ran my first marathon just before my golden birthday. Following ankle reconstruction surgery in autumn 2024, I’m now very much looking forward to putting on my walking boots and enjoying the outdoors again.
