Our Employment Law and Health & Safety Directors will be joining forces with ACEVO CEO Vicky Browning to discuss the pivotal challenges facing third sector employers and senior leaders and offer practical advice on people management and risk control.
While the voluntary sector has responded incredibly to the coronavirus pandemic, the strain placed on senior leaders of UK charities cannot be underestimated.
As part of our continued commitment to supporting charitable organisations throughout this difficult period, Ellis Whittam is pleased to be partnering with the Association for Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) for a 45-minute live employer Q&A to help you remain resilient and resume your operations confidently and compliantly.
Hosted by our Employment Law and Health & Safety Directors, James Tamm and Nick Wilson, alongside special guest ACEVO CEO Vicky Browning, the session will address major talking points and recent government developments, and is an opportunity to receive clear, pragmatic advice on your most pressing employment and safety obstacles.
With a long list of lockdown-loosening changes having been announced recently, including the relaxation of the two-metre rule, our panel of industry and legal experts will be exploring what this means for your organisation and activities, and what steps you will need to take to ensure you remain compliant.
What’s on the agenda?
From a health and safety perspective, we will be exploring employers’ legal duties, the newly-released government guidance, the importance of risk assessment and the practical control measures required to make your business COVID-secure. Turning to your employment challenges, we will be offering practical advice on safety-related refusals to work, and utilising the flexible furlough scheme for those who will remain at home either full-time or partially.
There will also be an opportunity to submit your questions to our experts and get specialist advice on your particular situation.
We understand that charitable organisations of all sizes and purposes are facing a myriad of challenges right now, including increased demand for services, reduced levels of funding, and the need to support service users and keep people safe. We also know through speaking to charitable organisations on a daily basis that maintaining a strong team and solid continuity plans and scenario planning has never been more important.
With this in mind, make sure to join us to get your urgent queries answered, learn how to overcome some of your current pressures, and get the advice you need to react quickly to fast-changing circumstances so that you can continue to support those in need.
