A Practical Seminar for Independant School Leaders

During this session, we’ll update you on new case law or legislative changes to ensure you’re legally compliant and prepared to tackle the latest employment challenges heading your way. In the second part of the session, we will be delving into the importance of leading the way in promoting a strong safety culture to protect your school from reputational and financial risk.

We’ll be discussing the following areas:

  • Employment Law update – a review of recent updates to a number of Bills including the Protection from Redundancy Bill, Carers Leave Bill and Workers Bill, to name a few.
  • NMW Case – an update on the NMW Case between Lloyd v Elmhurst School Limited and steps that can be taken to ensure your calculation of holiday entitlement and contracts are up to date and correct.
  • Trade Union Recognition – with increasing pressure for schools to receive TU Recognition, we will share an overview of the process and highlight some common pitfalls.
  • The impact safety culture has on an organisation – including the importance of the SLT in adopting a positive safety culture and gaining the commitment of staff.

The session will conclude with a Q&A so you can ask our experts your questions.
